Training

These will be run in conjunction with social sailing on Saturdays (before Christmas) and Sundays (after Christmas). We ask that you register your intention to attend by the Wednesday prior so we can find an appropriate trainer for you.

We learn so much from each other, so don't be shy to ask questions of other sailors in the yard, on the deck or at the bar.

Tractor Training and Patrol Boat Driving

Our aim is to upskill our members so they feel more comfortable and empowered to volunteer around the club on sailing days. You will be given one on one instruction and time to practice under supervision, skills needed to perform on sailing days.

Sailing Coaching

This will be more informal (compared to sailing school) but participants need to register their intention to attend also by pressing on the particular date below.

Monohull coaching - This course is designed for participants who wish to continue developing their racing skills in dinghies and want to learn more about tuning their boat and racing strategy and tactics. If you have trapezing and a spinnaker we can teach this also. You can use your boat or book a club boat.

Catamaran coaching - This course aims to build on your catamaran handling skills, to understand the tacking and gybing of the catamaran, its balance and how to make the boat handle and move fast. You will also learn trapezing skills and teamwork if on a 2-person boat. You will need your catamaran in good working order for this course.
