CLUB WORKING BEE - THIS SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER!
Sunday morning 12/10/24 at 9-00 am. It would be great to have all our members turn up for our pre season working bee to help keep the club looking great. We have a range of tasks - weeding, mowing, cutting back branches, painting/oiling, rigging Pacers, window cleaning and really important ones like levelling the pool table (!) etc.
Just bring along your favorite tools you feel comfortable with and a good attitude. Together we can move mountains!
See you there

RACE MANAGEMENT 2025/26 SAILING SEASON
Race Officers, Assistant Race Officers and Radio Operators:
A new system is being introduced to streamline rostering and communication for the 2025/26 sailing season. If you are interested in being a part of the Race Management Team this season, please register your availability in the volunteer roster, 2025-26 Sailing Roster (Tower Roster 25/26 sheet). If you have a regular team that you work with, please coordinate the dates with your team and enter all of the names into the roster, keeping in mind that whilst I will do my best to accommodate your requests, I might not be able to guarantee specific days. I aim to be flexible and give everyone as many opportunities as possible.
In addition, we’ll be using a dedicated Race Management WhatsApp group, through the Somers Yacht Club WhatsApp community, for ongoing communication throughout the season. This will help us stay connected and respond quickly to any updates. Follow this link to join up to the SYC Race Management WhatsApp group: SYC Race Management
Race Recorders and Computer Operators:
Race recorders and computer operators need to be on the "SYC Tower volunteers" Whatsapp group, also available through the Somers Yacht Club WhatsApp community. This group is for rostering and communication amongst the computer operators and race recorders. Join this group through the Somers Yacht Club Community click here: Somers Yacht Club WhatsApp community
I am looking forward to a smooth and successful season together!

CLUB RESCUE BOAT VOLUNTEERS

TRACTOR DRIVERS NEEDED!! (TRAINING AVAILABLE)
We are currently in need of Tractor Drivers to launch Sea Rescue boats this season.
There are many sailing activities during the coming season that require help.
Such as:
- Swish on Friday afternoons.
- Sail training on Saturday mornings.
- Racing on Saturday afternoons.
- Christmas Holiday period sailing.
All of these activities require a Tractor to launch and retrieve our SA1, SA2, SA4 and SA11 rescue boats.
If you feel you can help us out, we can train you and add you to our WhatsApp group so that we can organise our roster.
Please contact Grahame Tiplady on 0409 802 921 or tractor@somersyachtclub.com.aufor more information.
