SAILING NEWS
Sadly the sailing season has come to an end. We had some good racing though in light conditions during the Autumn series.
Also SWISH finished off with a successful season and we hope that we see all the ladies back again. Well done Wendy Wilson for making this a terrific regular event.




The Laser and Dragoon training days was a great success. We had 7 Lasers and 5 Dragoons being coached on land and on the water at the end of the Easter Holidays.
Thanks to Emma, Marie, Daniel, Lucy and other helpers for contributing to it's success.

WORKING BEE
Many thanks to all the terrific Volunteers that turned out last Sunday to put the club to bed for the winter. Volunteers are an essential part of our club and without them our continuing maintenance would be expensive.
We currently have a Maintenance App on Whatsapp for members who live in Somers to participate in the odd job requirement. There is always something to be done and if you want to add your name on to our Maintenance App then you might get the opportunity to help out during the week one day. This could be the start of an SYC Men's Shed. If you are interested please email us on: ssyc2@bigpond.com

Please note that Bar snacks are back, pre-orders preferred – see the menu for details.

Note also that in regard to refund requests for Friday night dinners The Somers General can process a full refund on the dinners with 24 hours’ notice. This is processed through Try Booking and can take up to 10 business days. If less than 24 hours’ notice is received The Somers General will either offer the meal as a take away option or will process a 50% refund on the ticket price.

Remember to sign in your non-member guests.

MARINER BOATING HOLIDAY FOR SALE

A message from Club member Russell Dunstan -

Have a wonderful sailing holiday in a 42 foot catamaran, with four other Somers Yacht Club people travelling around Mallorca Island, Spain.

Has 4 ensuite cabins and leaves June 8,2024 from Palma the capital of Mallorca and returns to Palma on June 22, 2024. Captain supplied and no sailing experience is necessary.

Due to a serious medical condition myself and my wife are not able to enjoy this holiday. I am prepared to sell my two all-inclusive tickets which cost $12,000 for $9,000.
