WINTER SAILING TRAINING

Keep your head in the game of sailing over winter with some land training, and stay connected with your mates.

It will be a social time for families to reconnect and learn more about sailing. Two afternoons in August and it's free.

August 3rd - Racing rules simply.

August 31st - Preparing for a regatta.

From 4 pm with plenty of social time to mingle. BYO nibbles, pen and dinner for afterwards if you please.

This is open for all members, with a focus on youth and Hobie sailors preparing for the Nationals next season.

VALE LUKE JOHNSON (1991 - 2024)

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Luke Johnson, husband of Tegan Johnson (nee Davies) and father to Willow. Luke passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a battle with bowel cancer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family during this difficult time.

CATERING UPDATE

After just over a year of memorable nights and great food, Dean and Zoe from the Somers General Store have informed us that they will discontinue their Friday night dinner service after 23rd August. While this news is disappointing, we extend our gratitude to them and their team for their hard work and efforts. We look forward to finishing our association strongly with the Mid-Winter event of 17th August and the remaining five Friday night dinners.

The General Committee understands the importance to all members of connecting regularly over dinner at the club. In response, a work party has been created to reimagine our food offer and engage with members, caterers and providers to ensure we have a workable and sustainable solution that meets members and our providers expectations.

Please note that Bar snacks are available, pre-orders preferred – see the menu for details.

Note also that in regard to refund requests for Friday night dinners The Somers General can process a full refund on the dinners with 24 hours’ notice. This is processed through Try Booking and can take up to 10 business days. If less than 24 hours’ notice is received The Somers General will either offer the meal as a take away option or will process a 50% refund on the ticket price.

Remember to sign in your non-member guests.

Signups are open until the end of the 2023/24 season.
