*Fully Fledgedsailing + social afternoons are designed especially for our ‘Fully Fledged’ Young Adult sailors (18-35 years). We’ve set one date every month, for this group to lock in their diaries - so they can plan ahead to be in Somers, to get together to sail in our club races, and then catch up over drinks and food that we’ll provide on the deck after racing ends. #Junior Fleet activities are for our experienced youth monohull sailors, who have completed all Sailing School programs, and now train to race as part of our Green Fleet and Silver Fleet training program. Junior Fleet Training Days involve a morning of coaching on the water with our Junior Fleet coaches, followed by a lunch break, and in the afternoon Junior Fleet sailors join the rest of the club fleet to sail in our standard club races - with their coaches accompanying them out on the water, to provide guidance and support during the races. Youth Sailing School^ is our learn to sail and learn to race training program for Somers Yacht Club Junior/Youth Members (minimum age 9 years – through to teenagers). We are an accredited Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Centre and offer a variety of courses in the December and January school holidays, ranging from training for the total beginner, to coaching on how to race - for both on monohull and catamaran sailors.
